The End of the “Treasure Hunt” in the Warehouse
At Wefapress, the focus is often not on large quantities of a single type of product, but rather on an enormous range of plastic semi-finished products (with thicknesses ranging from 8 to 100 mm). In conventional warehouses with high stacks, this inevitably means that the required sheet is often at the very bottom. The SYSTRAPLAN concept is designed to provide a large number of storage locations for many small stacks. This offers a combination of benefits that significantly speeds up material flow:- No more tedious rearranging: With approximately 288 available stacking spaces, materials can be stored in a much more organized and category-specific manner. This ensures that most sizes are within easy reach.
- Efficient handling of C-parts: Even materials that are used less frequently (C-parts) can be stored in a disorganized manner. However, because stack heights in the open-shelf warehouse are deliberately kept low, “digging out” a panel from the bottom of the stack is much faster and easier than in conventional systems.
- High selectivity: The logistics software optimizes routes and stacking processes so that production is supplied precisely and without delays.
Technological Highlights of the System
- Gentle vacuum handling: A telescoping vacuum suction frame with sequentially activated suction circuits ensures that the panels are gently “lifted.” This minimizes adhesion and protects the delicate surfaces.
- Sustainability through energy recovery: The stacker crane is equipped with modules that feed the braking energy from all servo drives directly back into the power grid. This reduces energy consumption by 20–30%.
- Fully integrated control system: The Siemens S7 controller, combined with a Windows-based warehouse management computer, ensures full transparency. Thanks to the network connection, current inventory levels can be accessed in real time at any time.
