Project overview

• Customer: The Indian tire manufacturer JK Tyres.
• Goal: An automated solution for tread strip handling with high process reliability and cycle performance.
• Challenge: The tread strips had to be rotated because downstream tire building machines require different orientations.
• Solution: A robot based tread booking system with two loading stations.
• A robot positioned centrally handles the material, supported by a vacuum frame for additional freedom of movement.
• Flexible handling for pick up and different drop off positions at the building machines.
• Result: Improved product quality with reduced staffing requirements, less downtime, and efficient cycle times.
